I Wanna Go To The Beach

Summer is here you guys (finally)!  It was looking kind of shaky for a while but here it is.  I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am.  I plan on making Summer 2016 one for the records books. My plans include hitting up some of my favorite beaches.  As with  every visit there are a few items that make my visit just a bit more enjoyable, after talking to the swimwear and sexy plus size lingerie team at AdoreMe about #BeachDayMusts, I decided to share a few things that are my absolute must haves when I hit the sand.

I Wanna Remix My Midi Skirt

I’m all for making the most out of my wardrobe.  In fact just recently I took my Gap Midi Skirt (You remember, the skirt that I wore at the Essence Street Style Block Party. If not refresh your memory here.) and transitioned it into a snazzy fall look. There are so many items in our own closet that we can remix  or transition from one  season to the next by simply adding and replacing key pieces.  Not only is it fun recreating different looks but it also helps saves us from overspending. A total win, right?  Here are some really simple ways you can transition some of your clothing into fall.

Layer It On:
Fall is absolutely a perfect time to incorporate layering. The dropping temps haven’t quite hit bubble coat weather but it’s still a chill in the air that will require maybe a light sweater topped with a light jacket. In my case I used a turtle neck and a trench coat.

Add Boots:
Nothing says Fall like putting away your sandals and replacing them with a sexy boot.  It’s an automatic indicator that we have left summer behind and are heading into cooler temps and longer nights. Try falling into fall with a cute bootie or a over the knee boot.

Get Vampy:
Vampy lips (think dark maroons and deep purples)  have always been a popular choice for me any time of the year but Vampy Lips are just the accessory (yes I think it's accessory) you need to kick off your fall looks.

I Wanna Shop: Fall Editon

I Wanna Buy

BootsForever 21 | Tulle SkirtSimilar | Sneakers: Nike | BraletNew Look | Lip Color:NYX Soft Matte Lip | Perfume: Pacifica Perfume

Am I the only one that creates a full shopping wishlist in my head. I know there has to be someone else out there who does this.  Either way I've been holding on to my above wish list (in my head) for quite a while now.  I've always viewed the fall as a season of transition and these items are all perfect for this transitional time of the year.

Do you have a fall shopping wishlist?

Sandy's Wish List

Like many folks along the east coast I've been a sitting duck for the last two days all thanks to Sandy.  Like any normal person in this situation I've been stuffing my face every two seconds, catching up on TV sitcoms via Netflix and off course internet shopping/browsing.  See what Sandy is doing to me.  She's turning me into a shopaholic who will more than likely end up gaining an extra five pounds.  Damn you Sandy.  Here are a few things that I've been eyeing.

Sending prayers to those who were  affected by the Hurricane.

A Girl in a Plus Size World

Tajuana Shyanne

Plus size fashion has come a long way. From elastic waist jeans and mumuus, to fitted tops and skinny jeans.  It's about damn time the fashion industry realized that we like to look cute and fashionable too. Skinny chicks (no offense) aren't the only ones who can work an outfit.I must admit, I wasn't always comfortable with being plus size. Like so many women, I would wear baggy clothes to try and hide my body. When in reality I was only making myself look bigger. Once I embraced my curves, I started to have fun with fashion.  My best fashion advice for ALL women is to wear clothes that flatter your specific body type. I can't stand to see a woman who could have it going on, if only her shirt or pants were a little bit bigger. Some of my curvy girl inspiration comes from blogs such as this one (I'm not just saying that bc she's my homegirl LOL), gabifresh.com, & donnadaily.com, just to name a few. Just because a blog is not catered to plus size fashion, doesn't mean you can't get great ideas from it and tailor them to fit your own personal style. So for all you curvy girls who may feel you cannot rock the latest fashion trends, I want you to grab a friend, get out the house, and try some stuff on. Then repeat after me...I'm Curvy, Natural, & Loving It!
